Interesting story, I thought the inside of this hat was cardboard. Then I removed the cardboard and there was 2 inches of cotton batting and then paper towel. Pretty classy. But underneath all that was a satin lining with the words "Oscar Danby The Good Tailor Hamilton and Brantford". Happy ending! But know I need to know why someone would do that...
This hat is pretty cool. I believe the material is straw, but I'm basing that on the smell...It's not stiff straw but floppy style. Thin little plum coloured brim and petersham ribbon. I really don't know if I've got the front of this hat right, but the union label is on the opposite side, so I think it's right.
In excellent condition but there is a little discolouration on the lining.Othwerise, great.
